Note: ITI Passed candidates are not eligible for Group A & C. In Group A, Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI) category applicants will be considered in the Pipe Fitter Trade only. ICTSM refers to Information Communication Technology Software Maintenance.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 15 and 19 years of age as on 01 October 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for SC/ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates.
Educational Qualification
- Group A: 10th Class (SSC) pass from a recognised Board. No ITI required.
- Group B: ITI passed in the relevant trade from an NCVT/SCVT recognised institution.
- Group C: 8th Class pass from a recognised Board. No ITI required.
Application Fee
- UR / OBC / EWS / AFC Category: Rs. 100/- + applicable bank charges
- SC / ST / Divyang (PwBD): No application fee
Payment is made online during the application process via the MDL recruitment portal.

- Create a new account and log in to the MDL apprentice portal.
- Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and trade details carefully.
- Upload required documents — passport photo, signature, educational certificates.
- Pay the application fee online (Rs. 100/- for applicable categories) through the portal.
- Submit the application before 01 July 2026. Download and save the confirmation slip.
Important: After 01 July 2026, new applications cannot be submitted and incomplete applications will be cancelled automatically. MDL reserves the right to modify, cancel, increase, or decrease the number of vacancies at any stage without prior notice. Selection Process
Selection for the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be based on the final ITI examination marks for Group B candidates. For Group A and Group C (non-ITI), selection will be based on merit in the final written examination (ITI Exam) conducted by the Board.
