1. What is CIPET?
CIPET stands for Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology. It is a premier national institution set up by the Government of India under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. CIPET has campuses across India — in Chennai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Jaipur, Patna, and many other cities.
CIPET specialises in education and training in plastics, polymers, and related industries. It offers diploma, post-diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes that prepare students for careers in India’s large and growing plastics manufacturing industry.

CIPET is offering the following four courses through CAT 2026. All courses are AICTE approved.
Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT)*
Diploma in Plastics Technology (DPT)*
Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design with CAD/CAM (PD-MWD with CAD/CAM)*
Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing (PGD-PPT)*
* Appearing final exam and expecting result can also apply for these courses.

8. How to apply online for CAT 2026

Visit the official online registration link — https://cipet26.onlineregistrationform.org/CIPET/ — this is the only official portal to apply. Do not apply through any other website. -
Select the course you want to apply for
Choose from DPMT, DPT, PD-MWD with CAD/CAM, or PGD-PPT. Make sure you meet the eligibility conditions for the course you select before proceeding. -
Fill in your personal and academic details
Enter your name, date of birth, category, contact information, Class 10 marks (for diploma courses), and other required details. Fill everything accurately — errors may lead to rejection at verification. -
Choose your preferred CIPET campus and exam centre
CIPET has centres across India. Select your preferred campus for admission and your preferred CAT exam centre. The CAT exam is held at centres all over India on 07 June 2026. -
Upload photograph and signature
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the prescribed format. Make sure they are clear and within the file size limit specified on the portal. -
Pay the application fee and submit
Pay ₹500 (General/OBC), ₹250 (SC/ST), or ₹100 (North Eastern Region) online. After payment, submit the form. Download and keep a copy of the submitted application and payment confirmation.
